The story of a mother - Part 15

Children kept visting Bama during 1994 - 1998 along with the kids and each time they made a plea to her that she joins them. Over the years Bama relented and put a condition that she would live seperately. The eldest son Gopalan agreed for that he fully undertook the expenses of a seperate establishment at chennai. This time she fully vacated the house at  Turaiyur and the house was rented out. She moved into a flat in the same apartment  where Gopalan lived in August 1998. Parthasarathy's treatment somehow continued only  at Trichy as she had developed some allergy to Medical Treatment at Chennai.

All the Children - Vijaya, Gopalan and Murali enjoyed her stay at Chennai. She had a  lot of fun with her grand children at Chennai. The community in the Apartment Complex
at Tiruvanmiyur discovered this new angel in their apartment. She started Sloka Sessions and  periodical Bhajans in her flat. All like minded elders and women enjoyed her association.
She entered the apartment as Gopalan's mother. But soon Gopalan got a new identity as music  teacher's son. This new life went on for one year. But again Bama's providence had different plans.

Gopalan got a foreign assignment in Franfurt, Germany. It was a rare honour for an SBI officer and  his long time ambition. Gopalan decided to move her to Trichy as he doubted her capabilty to pull on  without him in Chennai and as she was having Parthasarathy's Medical check up only at Trichy. Though the other two children were ready to move her to a place nearer to their  dwellings, Bama was wary of hospitals in Chennai and Parthasarathy's health was detoriating. In  August 1999 Gopalan flew to Germany with his family and Bama moved into her last son's house at Trichy
with a condition that he would make arrangements for a seperate establishment soon. Within a month the
writer located a flat in the same complex and moved to that flat, leaving parents in his flat. Bama always
ensured that she was not causing any financial burden to his son. Though the writer was not happy about the
seperate establishment, at one stage he accepted it as a reality and reconciled to it.

Parthasarathy became very uncooperative over the years and Bama was struggling alone with him. The writer  used to bathe him in the morning and change clothes. After sometime this was also discntinued as the writer  had to shift his residance nearer to his son's school in 2002.Bama had got severe skin infections in  her feet in the year 1998. This problem got aggrevated by attending Parthasarathy. At this stage she got the  help of Vasantha her uncle's daughter. Vasantha was younger to Bama by 10 years and she is an admirer of Bama.
She got widowed at the age of 50 and all her wealth (Several Lakhs) was swindled by her husband's relative.  She has no issues. Bama gave shelter to her at Turaiyur when she was driven out of her home. From then on she remained  with Bama and extended all help in the household.

Bama was encouraging reconnection of her sons with her husband's relatives and she also visited them. Her Co-sisters really  appreciated her perseverance in taking care of Parthasarathy. Bama wanted the Upanayanam of her two grandsons to be conducted  in a grand manner  when Parthasarathy was alive. As desired the Upanayaam of the boys was conducted in 2003 in a very grabd manner and was
well attended by all the relatives.
