JULY 15th is the birth Anniversary of one of the great sons of India - Perundalaivar Kamaraj.
Born in a poor family at a village in Southern Tamilnadu, he grew up with full awareness of the sufferings of the poor rural folks. His practical wisdom helped many - from Congress Party to needy poor.
His passion for providing free education has no parallel in Indian History. To day Tamilnadu owes it's literacy rates only to him. His noon meal scheme for poor children is the first such scheme in the country.
As Chief Minister he never did any favour to his kith and kin. He got furious to know that a water tap was provided to his mother out of turn. He reprimanded the Municipal Engineer of Virudunagar , ' If I start misusing my position , how can I control the entire administration and make it implement my welfare schemes?' . He had the tap removed immediately.
The oldage Pension scheme was introduced by him seeing the plight of an old woman bringing lunch boxes to Lecturers, when he attended a function in a college.
There are many incidents to tell us about his simplicity, honesty and humanitarion nature.
The only blunder he committed was promoting INDIRA GANDHI which he himself regretted during emergency.
INDIA forgets his great sons very easily and remains subservient to the heirs of a dynasty who are holding the country for a ransom and buying MPs at 30 crores per head - our own hard earned money looted by the dynasty over the years,
